Pride Month Feature: JD Danner
Written by Paolo Nicola
JD Danner is a Florida-based singer/songwriter with a style described as Johnny Cash meets Joan Jett. She has accomplished many amazing things throughout her career these past two decades, from touring at military bases to performing at an NFL halftime show. She continues to grow as a talented and passionate artist who constantly gives back to the causes she cares about.
As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, JD Danner has performed at Pride festivals throughout the U.S. Her philanthropic spirit shines through her music. She has supported several causes and organizations, including Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, The American Cancer Society, Disabled American Veterans, animal rescues, and more. Proceeds from her song ‘Shelter From the Shame’ benefit multiple domestic violence awareness groups and women’s charities.
In 2010, NFL cheerleaders selected her original song ‘Thanks To The Brave’ for their USO tour. She was later invited to perform at the halftime show for the Indianapolis Colts at the Lucas Oil Stadium. JD and her band also performed as the first ever and only house band for the Florida Panthers hockey team for their 2015-2016 season.
She was inspired to write her latest single, ‘Nothing But Faith’, during the Covid lockdown in 2020 and has received many accolades for it. We have noticed a trend of artists that created wonderful things during that difficult time.
JD and her band will be performing at The Arts Garage in Delay Beach on October 14 for a biopic concert where she will perform original songs and covers to tell her inspiring life journey with music.
We love compassionate musicians who use their art as a platform to make the world a better place. Congratulations to JD Danner and we look forward to seeing what’s in store for her soon!
