Primavera Sound Returns to Barcelona for 22nd Year

Primavera Sound returns for its 22nd year in Barcelona at the Parc Del Form. From May 29th -June 2nd Tickets are still available via the website. Along with the music festival, there is the conference Primavera Pro from May 29th- May 31st of May (an extra fee.) and events in the city (Primavera A La Ciutat)  on the 27th, 28th, and the 2nd of June.

This year, the line-up consists of previous headlining favourites, as well as artists making their Primavera Sound debut. On Thursday, May 30th, Pulp and Justice return to the Primavera Sound stage. Vampire Weekend make their Primavera Sound debut. On Friday, May 31st, Lana Del Ray makes her Primavera Sound debut while The National and Disclosure return to the Primavera Sound Stage. On Saturday, June 1st, SZA performs for the first time in Spain, as well as PJ Harvey, Mitski, FKA Twigs, and Charli XCX.

Here are some artists to keep an eye out for:

Shellac (United States) A mainstay on the Primavera Sound lineup. (They have played every year for the past 14 years!) They also announced a new record ‘To All Trains’ to be released on May 17th.

 

William Basinski (United States) – The avant garde legend will perform his classic album ‘The Disintegration Loops’ in full with an orchestra. The only time he will perform this classic album with an orchestra as part of his European tour.

 

Rita Vian (Portugal) – They released their debut album ‘SENSOREAL’ in 2023.

 

Nieve Ella (UK) - She had her first headlining tour of the UK earlier this year, self taught on guitar and released two EP’s in 2023 “Young & Naïve” and “Lifetime of Wanting.”

 

Beth Gibbons (UK) – Most known as the vocalist of Portishead. She will release her first solo work in 20 years on May 16.th Her Primavera Sound performance will be her first festival appearance supporting her new record “Lives Outgrown.”

 

Sophia Chablau e Uma Enorme Perda de Tempo (Brazil) Formed in 2019, they were one of Spin Magazine’s ‘Artists to Watch’ in 2022.  They released their second album ‘M​ú​sica do Esquecimento’ in 2023.

 

Atarashii Gakko! (Japan) – Making their Primavera Sound debut. They played Coachella earlier this year and made their United States television debut in 2023.
