June 28, 2023 — Austin native Bayonne finishes out their North American tour with a very special hometown show at the historic Parish. Roger Sellers aka Bayonne, joined by drummer Matt Toman, embarked on a 22 city tour for his third studio album Temporary Time. Jaws of Love opened for the first half of the tour, with mmeadows joining for the second half, including the final show in Austin, Texas.

The night began with locals slowly filling the venue, the stage filled with the group’s instruments and only a small vintage television facing the crowd. Attendees gathered around and inspected the television until the lights dimmed. Kristin Slipp and Cole Kamen-Green of mmeadows opened with music from their debut album release from earlier this year, Light Moves Around You, along with their past single releases like the 2021 ‘You Should Know By Now.’ Paired with hypnotic visuals coming from the television on stage, Slipp’s pop vocals and Kamen-Green on the keys, and utilizing instruments like the trumpet and the electronic valve instrument, the duo quickly pulled in the crowd for a night of amazing live music.

Soon after, Sellers and Toman took the Parish stage, starting off the set with ‘Must Be True’ and ‘Is It Time’ from Temporary Time before jumping back to music from both his 2016 album Primitives and 2019 album Drastic Measures. The energy was high from beginning to end, and the crowd loved every second of it. It was great to see the duo’s chemistry and passion play out throughout the set, with colorful vintage film being projected onto the stage. Sellers comments on the decision to have vintage film projection because VHS film reminds him of his dad and the overall ‘90s era feel.

Bayonne ended the night with more music from off Temporary Time, with an encore featuring 2016’s ‘Omar’ and 2017’s ‘Fallss.’ The crowd was ecstatic at the announcement from Sellers of the next couple songs. The Temporary Time tour ended with a bang and Austin can’t wait for more from Bayonne.
