July 18, 2023 — Yungblud’s North American leg of his world tour made a stop in Raleigh, North Carolina after playing stellar shows in New York, New Jersey, and Boston. With supporting acts, Games We Play and The Regrettes, Yungblud brought an electric show to the Triangle.

Before their opening sets, I had never been introduced to either band’s discography. I went in totally blind and left with new songs to play at full volume on the ride home to Charlotte. Games We Play gave an invigorating opening to the night. Frontman, Emmyn Calleiro, got the crowd pumped up and sweating. The Regrettes took the stage next, getting the crowd to mosh, while playing their hearts out. I couldn’t think of two bands more fitting to get the venue ready for Yungblud.

When Yungblud graced the stage, there was not a moment where he was not moving. Back and forth across the stage, jumping from speaker to speaker. He was an exhilarating artist to watch and photograph as well! He played each song with the same level of energy, start to finish, in the 90° (F) southern heat. He started his set with “21st Century Liability,” celebrating its five year anniversary. About half way through his set, Yungblud made his way into the crowd for “Fleabag.”

Calling upon the crowd to sing with him and pick the next song, Yungblud created an environment that felt warm and energizing. He took the time to ask the crowd to look right and left at those around us and make a new friend. I left the show with 3 new friends! He rounded out his show with an encore of “Lowlife” and “Loner.”

I left the show with a new love for Yungblud’s music. He is one of the most exciting performers I have ever had the opportunity to see live and I will be securing tickets for any of his future tours. If he is making a stop in your city, grab a ticket. You will leave the show with new friends and your heart pounding in the best way possible!
