May 6, 2023 — The Historic Scoot Inn in Austin, Texas quickly filled with local music-lovers Saturday night, ready for the three act show ahead. The sun may have been setting on the outdoor venue, but the heat wasn’t going anywhere, giving a very Texas welcome to the three acts. Lead singer Rahm Silverglade, guitarist Mike Haldeman, bassist Jesse Bielenberg and drummer Dillon Treacy of altopalo walked on stage, met with the roars and applause of concertgoers. The Catharsis Tour was now in full swing.

Fresh off their 2022 release of frenemy, altopalo, along with Scarypoolparty, have joined Covet on tour spanning 28 cities in the U.S. Hailing from the New York scene, altopalo has spread their unique sound across the states. From the band’s debut 2018 debut album frozenthere to their recent release, altopalo is known for incorporating elements of R&B, electronica, ambient and jazz, instantly setting the rhythmic vibes for the night.

One by one, band members began to take their positions and tune their instruments. The crowd at Scoot Inn’s spacious venue was quickly drawn into an intimate show as the four-piece began to dive into their recent release. As the Texas heat continued to simmer and the sun had not fully set yet, altopalo’s on-stage energy started the party and won over new fans that had not yet experienced the band’s music. Altopalo’s set was a great way to open the three-course serving of amazing live music.

The night continued with ‘American Idol’ contestant Alejandro Aranda, aka Scarypoolparty, taking the stage. Covet ended their Austin tour stop with music from their recent release Catharsis. Make sure to catch Altopalo, Scarypoolparty and Covet on their last few tour stops in Arizona and California.
